We have tidied up our website!

Our website was showing signs of age, and we have been round to sort things out. We have freshened up the design, and in general it is easier to find one’s way around.

Downloadable product brochures are easier to find – most are in several languages. There are animations of some products, and it is possible to order technical drawings and STEP files.

Last, but not least, you can find contact details of sales representatives in connection with each individual product. We still strongly prefer to have a dialogue with our customers, so that we can deliver Cooperation with Value!

And, by the way! We have set up a section for “Sharing knowledge”, so if you have any expertise that you think our customers would benefit from, we will be happy to post it on our website.

Stjernholm on tour with German visitors invited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On Monday and Tuesday 13-14 September we visited treatment plants in Herning and Aarhus together with a group of water treatment experts from Northern Germany. The German guests had been invited to Denmark by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and for several of them it was their first visit to Danish treatment plants, even though they live just south of the border.

“Sometimes the possibilities are so obvious that we simply don’t notice them,” says Caspar Juul Rasmussen from Stjernholm, who also went on the tour. “Sharing knowledge is always a good idea, and this was an excellent initiative from the Ministry. We found our sand washer drew a lot of interest, and we have already booked several meetings south of the border. We are looking forward to introducing Cooperation with Value in the North German market, too.”

New pre-treatment equipment at Hørning treatment plant:

Larger quantities of solids are separated off – and yet the amount deposited is smaller and cleaner.

When Skanderborg Forsyning installed a Stjernholm FSM Filterband screen, a Stjernholm Solids Washer and a Stjernholm Sand Washer, the results at Hørning treatment plant were excellent.

Even though the filterband screen held back far more solids than the previous solution, the quantity of solids separated off for deposition after washing and compacting in the solids washer is reduced by a quarter. Other things being equal, this means that the costs of deposition are also reduced by as much as 25%.

At the same time, a new sand washer has been installed, with additional savings on deposition costs, because the washed sand is now so clean that it can be deposited without charge.

“We are really pleased that Hørning treatment plant gets such a good return on their investments,” says Kaj Stjernholm, who on behalf of Stjernholm A/S has been responsible for the dialogue and negotiations between the company and Skanderborg Forsyning. “For us, this case is a really good example of the results that can be achieved through Cooperation with Value, both for our customer and for us!”

Stjernholm guarantees function of Supratec plate aerators.

Guaranteed function is often a priority when a treatment plant is choosing a supplier to replace the aeration system in process tanks. It is understandable when you know how important it is, both for the process and energy consumption, to have the aeration process always running optimally.

As a result of increased focus on energy consumption, it is often worthwhile to replace even relatively new plate aerators with new, more durable types. With guaranteed function.

Stjernholm was chosen as the supplier when Vandcenter Syd in Odense, Denmark, decided to replace plate aerators in its northern treatment plant. De nye Stjernholm Supratec plate aerators with EPDM membranes can be cleaned with formic acid, so that they retain their efficiency over time.

Cloudbursts, breakdowns, outbreaks…

Misfortunes rarely come at a convenient time. For example when the majority of Denmark is on holiday!

But Stjernholm is not closed for the summer. So if you need assistance, we will be ready to take your call. So please feel free to call us!

Whether you are looking for a non-committal talk or have an urgent need for service, we will pack up our vehicle and drive into the summer countryside.

Have a wonderful summer!

New International Sales Director

Thomas Fleischer Christiansen has been hired as our new International Sales Director as of 8 July 2021. Thomas has worked with value-adding international management and sales for many years, most recently as the Global Sales Director at MYKITA GmbH.

Thomas will help us meet our ambitious growth target in the export markets, and we are therefore excited about the opportunity of equipping him for the task.

We are convinced that Thomas’ background within international sales of strong brands is a good basis to meet our targets of establishing sustainable co-operation with strong, local players in our relevant export markets.

Video for the Chinese market

The UN Sustainable Development Goals are of vital interest to the Chinese wastewater sector. Since our products are directly oriented to the Sustainable Development Goals, we – in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark – have made a little promotion video for the Chinese market.

The video is receiving exposure as part of the Ministry’s campaign, a Social Media Video Series on How Danish Companies Lead in Sustainability. The campaign will run on the social media in China, and you can see our contribution here.

China workshop

This week Stjernholm participated in two workshops together with U.S.E Water, Vandcenter Syd, and Danish Export.

It turned into a good dialogue on CO2 and energy saving with Beijing Capital, The Water Supply and Drainage Association and Jinan Municipal Design Institute. It has been instructive to hear about the goals and strategies for the wastewater field in China.

Big thanks to all those who have helped get this great team up and running.

Nikolaj Tønder has a degree as a mechanical engineer and has been employed in a similar position for the past 8 years. Furthermore, Nikolaj has more than 5 years of experience from other parts of the wastewater industry.

OXxOFF 3D animation

A new 3D animation of the OXxOFF meter explains how the OXxOFF can be used to reduce energy consumption in a waste water treatment plant without reducing its effect.

These Covid-19 times have taught us the importance of being able to explain to our customers abroad how our products work, when we can’t be on the spot ourselves. Considerable interest on the Chinese market among others has led to the production of a little 3D animation, which shows both how the meter is constructed and how it works.

Before long, Stjernholm A/S is washing grit in California.

After a 3 month jurney, two 2500 grit washers from Stjernholm A/S have arrived at Silicon Valley Clean Water.

Like many other wastewater treatment plants in California, Silicon Valley Clean Water is upgrading the facilities to optimize resource recovery and operations.

From now on, these Danish grit washers will be an essential part of the wastewater facility’s pre-treatment, as they will wash the organics from the grit, which significantly reduces the disposal volume from the treatment process.
