We’re in a strong position when TCO counts in the tender!
We have recently won several assignments where TCO – Total Cost of Ownership – was a priority in the call for tenders. One example was the delivery of a new SR 1600 sand washer for the treatment plant at Egå. The new sand washer replaces a smaller SR 800, which we delivered as long ago as 2000! And the old one was only replaced because over time it had become necessary to increase the sand-washing capacity.
The new sand washer is now installed and ready to treat the increased quantities of sand from the first flow. When tested, it was shown to live completely up to the guaranteed levels of > 95 % dry matter and > 1 % organic material in the retained sand. The same applies to the retention of sand, which is above 90 %.
“In fact the earlier sand washer was only our sixth sand washer ever, when we installed it at the Egå treatment plant more than 20 years ago,” says Kaj Stjernholm with obvious pride. “Even then, we guaranteed a lifetime of 15-20 years with an estimated payback period of 3-5 years. Time has shown that our promises were kept, so that places us in a really strong position today when retention, dry matter content, the content of organic material and TCO are priorities in the call for tenders.”
