We will not compromise on quality. Major price increases on the world market for steel and cables have meant that we too have had to raise our prices.

Evaluation of Stjernholm products must be based on TCO. We have therefore chosen to regulate our prices instead for example of using thinner materials in our production. We still want to be able to say that the lifetime of a Stjernholm sand-washer is at least 20 years.

Our part of the Danish Pavillon on IE Expo 2021 in Shanghai shines! We offer online meetings with our salespeople in Denmark on the screen. The Covid-19 forces us unfortunately to stay at home.

The Confederation of Danish Industry (DI) recently carried out a survey of 7174 Danish companies’ online communications about sustainability. It appears that 53% of these companies mention sustainability on their online business cards, while as many as 93% of companies with more than 250 employees communicate online about sustainability.

The survey was referred to recently in Børsen, where Kaj Nees Stjernholm was quoted as saying that “We must respect the fact that not everyone has the same focus on the Sustainable Development Goals”. That is why – in Kaj’s opinion – it is important to concentrate on the CREATION OF VALUE in the solution. Then aspects like the environment and CSR become important selection criteria on a level with the price.

“But in export markets especially, we have met specific requests about relating the qualities of our products to the Sustainable Development Goals,” says Kaj Nees Stjernholm. The company’s website now shows both the Sustainable Development Goals and the partial goals affected by each product.

Stjernholm A/S received one of the prestigious awards for the environment when the Danish Society of Engineers, IDA, gave out the EU’s Danish awards for the environment for 2020

Nyborg Wastewater Treatment Plant, a nice, large wastewater treatment plant in Denmark, bought a Stjernholm grit washer SR-1900 in 2017 to replace an older grit washer from another brand.

– The old grit washer had begun to give the wastewater treatment plant’s operating staff several challenges, with clogging follow bay downtime – Stjernholm grit washer is not the cheapest on the market, – admit to Ulrik Folkmann, – but I dare say that it is the best on the market. So when we enter into dialogue with customers who would like to look at an investment with TCO as a starting point, Stjernholm grit washer turns out to be the best choice anyway. We have grit washers, which after more than 20 years of operation, still are running impeccably! –

In Nyborg, there have been no regrets about the choice. The Stjernholm grit Washer has been running for four years without clogging and with a super good result on both retention and purity in the washed grit, which today keeps a high dry matter content with a very low content of organic matter.

In addition to the advantage we gain from saving the person-hours required to keep the old grit washer running, we now also get cleaner grit and optimal organic matter retention in the wastewater.

Din Forsyning has replaced their old perforated plate and bar screens from Stjernholm A/S new model from FSM in Germany, and even after a short time, could they observe that considerably less screenings material had passed the screens, resulting in that the sand and fat is cleaner than before. This is clearly seen on the sand and fat chamber’s surface and subsequently in the washed sand.

It has already given Din Forsyning a better operation, and everyone is looking forward to less screening material in the drained sludge from the Wastewater Treatment Plant West.

This improvement will have an impact on the sand that is washed and recycled, as well as on the operation and quality of machinery and cleaning processes.

Now we packed the first box with an OXxOff for China!

The customer is our new partner, Suzhou Howye Environment Technologies Co., Ltd., which sees excellent opportunities for OXxOff in China.

OXxOff floats on the water surface and measures the efficiency of aeration in a wastewater treatment plant process tank. The results of the measurements can be read continuously in the control room so that the air also can be continuously optimised. The result is a more efficient aeration with much lower energy consumption and a lower carbon footprint.

Energy consumption for aeration often represents 50% of the total energy consumption of a wastewater treatment plant. This applies to China and the rest of the world. The potential energy savings with OXxOff as an online aeration observer are therefore enormous.

Fair and constructive cooperation with Silicon Valley Clean Water has resulted in an order for two Stjernholm SR 2500 grit washers with two augers.

Silicon Valley Clean Water is one of California’s major wastewater treatment plants, which has gone through an extensive renovation over the past few years. At Stjernholm we are proud to be chosen as a supplier for a significant part of this renovation – not least because the order was awarded to us based on a Total Cost of Ownership-calculation.

Stjernholm SR 2500 can retain 90% of grit > 125 microns µm and the grit output has less than 3% organics and 95% total solids. The capacity with two augers is three tons of sand per hour per grit washer.

In order for us to disturb the traffic as little as possible, the grit washers transported from the shop in Randers in the dead of night!

Co-operation agreement with Suzhou Howye Environment Technologies Co., Ltd. in China celebrated with cake.

Interest in Stjernholm’s OXxOff providing online data to aeration control is still increasing across the world. That is also the case in China where the market for equipment which can result in energy consumption savings is huge.

We are therefore very pleased to announce our first co-operation agreement on the Chinese market. The agreement has been concluded with Suzhou Howye Environment Technologies Co., Ltd. in Jiangsu, which is a province located at the east coast just north of Shanghai.

We definitely feel that Howye is also excited to make our co-operation a success. At any rate, the company’s marketing manager sent us the above photo of an OXxOff cake which he had made to celebrate the signing of the co-operation agreement with us.

Because even though a lot is different – there is still something that is as it used to be!

Aggressive environments are expected for our service technicians. They are trained to look after themselves and others.

They are used to taking the necessary precautions when working on a wastewater treatment plant

So even though much is currently different, they are still ready to move out.

Similarly, our salespeople have now had almost a year to learn how to be preoccupied without being on the spot. And it’s going well now!

For Stjernholm, 2020 has been a very instructive year. Therefore, we feel entirely at a higher level now – even after the current restrictions have been tightened.

At a press conference March 11^th, the Danish Prime Minister, Mette Frederiksen, announced extensive measures to prevent the spreading of Corona virus in Denmark.

We fully support the measures being taken, and therefore draw attention to the fact that Stjernholm will continue business completely normally. Our telephones are open, and we will take on all assignments and carry them out as usual.

All our visits to customers will be transferred to telephone or Skype meetings.

Our normal opening hours continue to be:
